A Wonderful Human
Ruth Reynoso Benitez
A wonderful human, a community hero, and a beloved mother and grandma.
(1949-2021)
Humanity inspires me. For me, everyone has — and wants, to share something with the world, let it be because they want to leave their mark in people’s lives or just because they want to make themselves known. But whatever the reason, all individuals play an important role in humanity.
For instance, the innovations, inventions, and knowledge that is known until today were shared by people who, instead of being selfish and keep it to themselves, decided to make it part of a greater good for humanity, and thus these people became known; noticed by the entire world throughout time. However, many human beings have shared something good for everyone, but they went unnoticed for some reason.
So, for this month’s topic, Dream on Youth decided to make people known for their contributions to humanity because they have the right and deserve to be recognized and celebrated for. Personally, I address these amazing people as community heroes since they have made positive and innovative changes in different aspects in their locality.
For today, I want to celebrate a wonderful human in my neighborhood. Her name was Ruth Reynoso Benitez, and she was the grandma — or for Mexicans, Abuelita, for all. I say this because she treated everyone with love, warmth, and care, as they rightfully deserve. And, not only was she this joyful human being, but she also took care of nature and the surroundings.
In her days, it was all about caring for others, like tending to the sick, always greeting people in her way, asking about everyone’s day, and representing the local government's neighborhood. This Abuelita was everything but selfish, she always used to make everyone laugh, and if it didn’t work, then her own laugh would be contagious so that you can imagine! Her lifestyle was all about laughing, smiling, and living in the present, which taught many people lessons about life and converted to this positive way of living <3.
The list of things she has made as a community hero can go on and on, but her most representative selfless action was giving others what they needed the most at the time. In her possibilities, she would give everything she had to people in need, whether it was a good talk, money, caring, or time, she would not think twice.
She will always be remembered as that wonderful human, a community hero. For her family, she is forever in their hearts, and for the rest of the world, she will be known thanks to the Dream on Youth community.
And don’t forget, in Dream on Youth we love you and support you. Until next post, loves! <3
