Adventure On

 I'm going to make this short and sweet. It is currently 1:34 AM as I type this. All of the DOY interns are more than likely asleep. I just watched this music video for the first time. City of Angels. Thirty Seconds to Mars. If you watch this, I swear you won't regret it. (Also, if you don't watch it what I'm about to say will be slightly confusing...)
    City of Angels. Los Angeles, California. Kanye West. Ashley Olsen. Olivia Wilde. Selena Gomez. Lindsay Lohan. Shawn White. James Franco. Lily Collins. The list goes on. In the video, they all talk about how much LA means to them. How by taking a risk, LA has given them so much more than they could ask for. That LA has taught them more than they could've ever imagined. My point being, if you had one shot, a one-way ticket, where would you go? What city are you dying to escape to? What the hell would you risk everything for, leave everything behind, and just go? For me, it's New York City. I've always felt it in my bones, and after visiting a few times, I know I'm supposed to be there one day. I love the atmosphere, I love the city, I adore the subways. But more importantly, I love people. 
    Save up a few hundred bucks. Buy some map books of the city that's calling your name. Make an adventure soundtrack playlist. Buy a good novel that you can learn and grow from. Visit the city's museums. Learn the history and culture of your dream city. Fall in love with it. Find a diner or coffee shop that you could see yourself as a regular at. Buy a good camera. You can never take too many pictures. Make your mark. Meet new people. Volunteer as much as you can. But most importantly, make the move. Go outside of your comfort zone. Live. You only have this one life. Don't let anything hold you back. Adventure on.
