A Star is Born

Many of you probably don't know who Cheyenne Corbine is yet but let me tell you this, you need to know her. Here's why:
Chey, as most of her friends call her, is a beautiful soul. Someone with a heart of gold and a voice to match. She's been someone I've held near and dear. People who know her will tell you, "there's just something about that girl." It's not just that she's sweeter than ice cream on a hot day or hot chocolate on a cold night. No, there's this magnetic pull to her and none of us can truly explain it. Well, that was, until now.

I realized while informing her of some top-secret news, and her thanking me, that Chey has something called star potential. She can't see it. She just thinks she's being herself. It's something precious and untouched. Her lyrics speak from the soul like Taylor Swift's. She is starting on YouTube like Megan & Liz. She has that raw quality that can't be taught, and the drive to match. That, my friends, puts her a cut above the rest.
Recently she got into a music production program and couldn't wait to share some news with me. "We had our first sharing day and all the guys in the class complimented my work!" They all had to write a song and record it for a summer assignment on the play, A Raisin in the Sun. She said the guys in the class are all 17-18 and she was shocked that they genuinely loved it. She never thought they would go on and on about her lyrics, her voice. "I was literally on cloud nine and I have been there all day." But that's not what gets me about Cheyenne. It's her modesty.
She will be the first one to tell you "thank you" and that "you're amazing." She has thanked me at least 50 times this week through text messages because she says "you were one of the first ones to believe in me and you got me to this point. I have never been this happy in my entire life." If you would've told her a year ago she'd be letting anyone hear her music, she would've laughed at you. Just look at her now. I told her the talent, spirit, and drive were all there, I was just the push.
When you read that title up there, A Star Is Born, and you realize you want to be a star too, think of Cheyenne. Think of how far she has come. That she found something she was passionate about, kept her head up, and worked hard at it. Remember that when you achieve anything to remain humble. Remember that you can do this, you are a star ready to take over the galaxy. Good luck to all of you. Dream On Youth is behind you 100%.
P.S. If you haven't been on Twitter yet, listen to Cheyenne's song "Without A Warning" here. We are trying to get that song with the hashtag, a star is born, trending for her. Why? Because we believe her voice deserves to be heard.

Positive vibes only,
Cydney
