Met Erica Morgan

 If you haven't heard of Miss Erica Morgan yet, you're about to.  Get ready to hear this name all over the world, because this girl is about to take the country music world by storm.  This 22 year old superstar has been in my personal iTunes library for two years, after I found her cover of Taylor Swift's unreleased song, By The Way, and I hope she makes her way into yours.  
    This Coral Springs, Florida native has been singing her whole life, and plays guitar and piano.  For the past 6 years she's been writing and focusing on recording her many songs.  When asked why she wanted to start making music, here's what she had to say: "I grew up listening to Shania Twain and Britney Spears.  I've always wanted to be on a stage, sing, and entertain an audience like they did.  My dad plays guitar, piano, bass, and banjo, so I was immersed in music at a young age.  In high school, I didn't have many friends so I needed an escape."  When she was in 9th grade, she discovered a "girl with curly blonde hair...[and] a shiny guitar", Taylor Swift.  Taylor helped her realize that in order to make it in the music business, she'd need to play an instrument, so she proceeded to teach herself how to play guitar.
    Erica got her start by posting videos on YouTube.  Her favorite songs to cover are "What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts and "Red" by Taylor Swift.  She mentioned her deep connections with each song, allowing them to feel like something she wrote herself rather than just another cover song.
