Noonday Collection Review
‘Tis the season to shop for your loved ones and friends for Christmas. Retail stores are usually the way to go when shopping for gifts, but have you ever thought about buying presents from stores who give back? TOMS shoes set the trend when it comes to giving back to those less fortunate and I found a company that does just that. I have been looking for jewelry for a friend for Christmas and I came across Noonday Collection. They “use fashion and design to create economic opportunity for the vulnerable.” I really loved the jewelry and scarves, but knowing they also help out someone in the world really makes my purchase even better. Buying from Noonday Collection means that the buyer creates a marketplace for their artists so they can earn more and work less and their families can stay together. Artists for Noonday come from Ethiopia, Guatemala, Peru, Haiti, India, Uganda, Rwanda, Ecuador, Vietnam, Bali, and Thailand.
Not only do they have artists from around the world, but a team from all over who helps run Noonday Collection. They don’t have the usual titles like “President” or “CEO”. They have “chief dreamer,” “dream fulfillment specialist,” and “lover of words and details.” If that doesn’t fit in with Dream On Youth, then I don’t know what does. This company fits so well with what we believe in here at Dream On Youth, I couldn’t resist writing about them. Jessica Honegger, Chief Dreamer, started Noonday Collection in the midst of raising money to adopt her son and third child from Rwanda. In 2011, while launching the ambassador opportunity, Jessica needed help and she found Travis Wilson. Since then they have teamed up and created a business that would alleviate poverty through entrepreneurship.
