Grammy's, Lyrics, Homework

With the Grammy's quickly approaching and the newness of 2014 quickly wearing off, I thought I'd post about the significance of music and even give you guys a little homework (I swear it's not hard!)
I've posted numerous times about what music means to me, how it's the thread that holds the world together. That's dramatic, but I honestly believe it's true. The focus of the Grammy's this year is about how music tells stories. That's the fascinating part, I think. That's what pulled me so deeply into music. It was the fact that I could listen to this song and know so much about the person and what they had gone through. It's the fact that you can take something that happened over the years and condense it into a 4-minute song.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I just read a post on Hannah Brencher's blog about how you'll never know how your words will impact someone until you put them out there. I've been thinking a lot about the fact that I graduate next year and that my childhood best friend graduates in June, so I wrote this. It isn't titled yet, so for your homework. I'd love it if you'd give it a title and let me know if it means something to you.

I've been waiting my whole life for this moment, but now that it's here, I wanna turn back time.
I'm not ready to step away from here; I'm not prepared to leave it all behind.
'Cause every time I've fallen down; someone's been there to pick me up.

Thank you for keeping your promises.
Thank you for always smiling.
Thank you for getting me through the heartache.
Thank you.

I'll never forget the memories we made, running through these small-town streets.
But right now, windows down, music up so loud, screaming "hey" to everyone we meet.
It's not as easy as it seems to step away from everything.

Thank you for keeping promises.
Thank you for always smiling.
Thank you for getting me through the heartache.
Thank you.

Cause every time I've fallen down, you've been there to pick me up.

Thank you for keeping promises.
Thank you for always smiling.
Thank you for getting me through the heartache.
Thank you.

Thank you for all the prayers you've sent my way and for making me the girl I am today.

Fearlessly,
Sarah Sholar
