Little Inspirations In Life
The beginning of the year can be stressful. The new schedule of classes, new internships, hours at work, and personal issues can cause stress. Being stressed out can make a person emotionally, physically, and mentally drained. We have all been there during finals week or when you have fights with friends or family. Something different that I have found to relieve stress is to look at positive quotes. These quotes inspire me to keep going and realize whatever troubles are going on are just a bump in the road. Inspirational quotes also help my friends whenever they come to me with advice.
"The mind is everything. What you think, you become"- Buddha.
“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.”- Eleanor Roosevelt.
"It's not what you've lost, but it's what you find." - Ellie Goulding.
Another thing that reminds me to keep positive is a Hamsa. It is an amulet shaped like a hand, with three extended fingers in the middle and a curved thumb or pinky finger on either side. It is thought to protect against the “evil eye” and is a popular motif in Jewish and Middle Eastern jewelry. After doing a little research, to me, it represents keeping your head up through tough times. Things happen, life goes on, no reason to be miserable and unhappy all the time. Some people could learn so much about letting things go and looking at the positive every once in a while. Seeing a Hamsa makes me think of being positive. Having a symbol like this on jewelry or a picture could remind you to keep a positive mind and to release those issues in life.
So next time you are stressed out. Take a deep breath and think of a quote or picture that makes you happy. It may take some time, but eventually, the stress will subside, and you will be happy again.
