Today is National Wear Red Day. A day to recognize the number one killer of women. Heart Disease.
Founding
This day was founded in 2004 by the American Heart Association to raise awareness of heart disease in women.
Importance
Heart Disease killed 299,578 women in 2017, accounting for one in every five death in women. In the United States, this makes Heart Disease the number one killer of women. If you have any of the following symptoms, please consult a physician:
Pain or pressure in the chest, arms, or back
Pain in the neck or jaw
Shortness of breath even in a resting position.
Some steps you can take to reduce your risks are:
Know your Blood Pressure
Know your risk for Diabetes
Know your Cholesterol and Triglycerides levels

Commemoration
If you want to commemorate today simply wear Red, which could be as simple as Red nail polish or as complex as a monochrome Red outfit but remember to talk about why.
