Thanksgiving

Today in the US is Thanksgiving. It can be a difficult day for many people, between family disputes about anything under the sun. Not to mention the history and mythology behind this day; many people choose not to celebrate. Instead of focusing on the stressful and mythological aspects of today, take a moment to feel gratitude for the steps you’ve made toward a healthier life, for the people in your life, and for the opportunity to continue to make strides to healing and being the person you want to be.

What steps have you made in the last year to make yourself healthier? Did you do something simple like drinking more water? Did you start walking every day? Did you begin to take stock of your mental health? Congratulations if you did. If not, that’s ok too because you still have time.

Let the people you know be there for you no matter how much life throws at you what they mean to you today. Not necessarily the biological family you may feel pressured to see today, but the friends and loved ones that accept you without question. Be grateful that you still have them in your life and that you have the opportunity to grow together.

You can still change things. You have agency as a person that never leaves you. As long as you’re standing, you have the time, opportunity, and power to change the things you don’t like about your life.

Last year was incredibly difficult for so many people, and so much has been lost, and many people are still losing time, careers, people. So take a moment today and be thankful for what you still have and what can never be taken away.

That’s all I have for you today. Leave a comment about what you’re grateful for today. Until next time.
