Free Educational Resources
Hey guys, today I would like to share with you some of my favorite free educational resources that help keep my brain sharp and continue to grow my knowledge base. Of course, we all know, use, and probably abuse Wikipedia, but did you know that Wikipedia is just the tip of the iceberg? Here are just a few of the many free resources you can find online to keep building your skills and improving your knowledge.
BetterExplained.com: Do you feel like you’re just not a “Math Person”? Math is taught using rote memorization, and if that’s how not how you learn, you’re out of luck. At BetterExplained, they aim to teach math excitingly and intuitively using the ADEPT method. ADEPT stands for Analogy, Diagram, Example, Plain English, and Technical Definition.
Quizlet: do you love using flashcards to learn? Do you not enjoy making them, storing them, and carrying them around? Quizlet has digital flashcards using their mobile app, meaning you can take your flashcards everywhere and study whenever you have a free minute.
Zotero.org: one of the most complex parts of writing research papers is keeping your sources organized and collaborating with others. Zotero makes this super easy, and it can even help cite your sources in the proper writing style.
Trello.com: Group projects can be a pain. It’s hard to coordinate; everyone is a different schedule, not everyone has access to the same sources, etc. Trello is a free project management software that helps teams communicate, stay on task, and be more productive.
That’s all I have for today. I hope these tools will help you get the most out of your courses. Do you have a favorite tool that I missed? If so, please Feel free to drop a link in the comments. Until next time.
