Open Yourself Up To Inspiration

Hello, fellow dreamers! It has been quite a while since I have written for all of you, so here I am with a challenge for you (it is super easy, I promise). I would even go as far as suggesting to make this one of your New Year's resolutions...
Do you know those moments in life when you feel completely overwhelmed? It could be because of that test you think you totally bombed, or that one girl you truly thought was your best friend, or that fight you and your mom got into because you are totally in love with this one boy... Whether big or small, this is my challenge for you: start a journal and write it all down. No, I am not asking you to start a diary, as we all had in sixth grade. I believe writing is a ginormous help when it comes to releasing all of those pent up feelings. Sometimes, we may feel that venting to our close friends is not enough because they will not understand. What better person to have a vent session with than yourself?
Something else you could consider is an inspiration journal. I recently started one for the new year, and I am thrilled I did. Admit it. We all have those nights where we scroll through Tumblr and tell ourselves, five more minutes, but then we end up staying awake until 2 A.M. But who can blame us? Tumblr is a place filled with endless inspiration and positivity, so why not put all of those good vibes somewhere you can easily find it later? You don't have to be an artist to keep an inspiration journal; you have to allow yourself to find happiness.
So will you accept this challenge? Nobody deserves to feel sad and depressed all of the time. You deserve to let yourself open up to all of the glorious opportunities life has to offer. By writing down those utterly overwhelming emotions, you are allowing yourself to blow away that dark rain cloud looming overhead. Taylor Swift once said, "It’s like writing all of those things down and putting it in a bottle and throwing it out into the ocean, and maybe someday they’ll hear it, and they’ll know it, but maybe they won’t. And maybe that’s a really cowardly way to live your life, or maybe it’s the bravest possible way to live your life." By storing all of the inspiring words you find online, you allow positive vibes into your life, which is one of the scariest feats a person can accomplish. You don't have to be a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer to write words down. Writing is one of the most amazing outlets in life; it can be a way to showcase your heart's desires or your mind's daydreams. So write it all down. Write a six-word sentence. Write a poem. Write a song. Write the next big novel. Just write it down. I can guarantee you will feel so much better afterward. After all, "I think the words you keep yourself from saying are the ones that haunt you the longest."

Stay fearless,
